Home.
(thats ironic)
So happy you are here
Ready to relax? Or want an exciting water / snow sport vacation? Hiking? Get some work done in a new remote location? We got you covered!
A DURABLE JOY is an anagram for BLUE JAY ROAD. Which is the street where the condo is located. Exact address will be sent to you from the app you booked through. But we are right next to the lake and park in Boulder Bay (just in case you want to start scoping out your trip)
If you have not booked your trip yet, you can check available dates here:
Getting to Big Bear Lake
In the Winter months, you will ALWAYS have to carry your chains in your vehicle. There is definitely a chance you will need to put them on.
Best to check road conditions before you start your drive for weather conditions and road closures. Here are some sites that get updated regularly:
KBRH933 and BEAR MOUNTAIN ROAD CONDITIONS
Local Weather
Ben's Weather is the most accurate weather forecasting we have in the mountains.
Bring a charger
In the mountains of Big Bear, it is common for the power to go out for hours at a time. Bringing an additional charger will keep your phone up and running so you can still work or watch videos from your cell signal.
Lake Access
Boulder Bay Park is one of the few public lake access points with a dedicated space to launch small personal water craft like kayaks and paddle boards. It's also just a few steps away from the condo!
In the Summer months, our guests get 15% off kayak, paddle board and SUP rentals at GET BOARDS, which is just in front of our unit.
Snow Sports
A Durable Joy condo is:
1.6 miles to ALPINE SLIDE tubing
4.2 miles from SNOW SUMMIT
6 miles to BEAR MOUNTAIN
In the Winter months, our guests get 15% off ski and snowboard rentals at GET BOARDS,
Shopping and Dining
There are so many places to get your shopping done in Big Bear! And many different kinds of restaurants, bars, lounges and live music venues can be found all over town. But let's start with The Village at Big Bear. How many things can you pack into one night?
Mountain Transit is the local bus line. It stops just behind our condo and can take you to the Village and back if you do not wish to drive yourself!
Have your drink & eat it too!
I realize that makes no sense.
But Big Bear now has a free trolley thru the shopping/dining district and the resorts! Pick up is just behind our condo complex, so keep your car parked and the good time flowing!
