BREAKFAST SPOTS
Just a short walk from the condo, right next to Get Boards is this small family run breakfast and lunch restaurant. It is cash only, but so convenient!
The wait can get long so put your name in early. Also cash only for some reason.
BARS & EATERIES
Outdoor lounge seating in the heart of the village, live music on weekends, try the steamed mussels and roasted romaine caeser salad
A family favorite. Great outdoor vibe, TVs in the bar area upstairs, live music on weekends, get the brussels sprouts and bread pudding bites.
Mexican food away from the village traffic, get the spicy margarita, chile relleno, and fish ceviche
Cheap beer, peanut shells on the floor, karaoke
There are SO many great pizzas places in Big Bear. People will always debate out which is the best. My favorite is Village Pizza. It has an 80s feel to it. They are not trying to impress anyone, just serving great pizza
If Burgers is what you are looking for, you have come to the right place! DEEE-LICIOUS!!
PROVISIONS
Boulder Bay Market
This is not a picture of Boulder Bay Market. I stole this from the internet. Boulder Bay Market has way less stuff. But it's super convenient. Cold Drinks, liquor, toothpaste, canned goods and the like. Just next door to Blanca and Pierre's and Get Boards. The guy who usually works the cash register is Mike. He comes off as super gruff. But I'm sure he has a heart of gold. I think??
UPDATE ON MIKE - After not seeing him in the market for a few months I asked another employee about him. He met the woman of his dreams back in his home country. He packed up to move and be with her. Then he caught covid and saddly passed. I am leaving the earlier post up because he was a local icon. Rest in peace, Mike.
There is an even smaller market right on Blue Jay Road across from the parking lot entrance, at Camping Cabins. I think it's great for beer and ice. Maybe some fishing supplies?
If you require a big box grocery store, you will want to go into town and hit up Vons. They usually have pretty long lines at check out. But I did notice they may deliver.
Another full service grocery store with all you need and a great deli. Just across the street from Vons.
*Best advice... do the majority of your shopping on your way up the hill. Save yourself a ton of hassle!
